At A House on Beekman, our deepest desire is to see our neighbors flourishing and living out their God-given potential. We believe that every child is made in the image of God and is therefore instilled with limitless potential. While all humans are born with equal potential for creativity, joy, and flourishing, the opportunities for individuals to realize their potential are unevenly distributed.

Far too often, children growing up in the South Bronx are dealt a hand where the odds are stacked against them. A House on Beekman's programs seek to level the playing field by providing opportunities for children and families to build strong, healthy relationships, explore their passions, and receive high quality educational experiences.

WHEN WE FLOURISH

ROOTED

Our hip hop dance team has been a crucial part of our programs since 2013. A genre that originated in the Bronx, hip hop has deep roots in our community. Choreographed by one of our high schoolers, performed by five girls who have grown up in our programs, and filmed in our neighborhood, this dance video celebrates the beauty, creativity and resilience that is woven into the fabric of the South Bronx.

At A House on Beekman, we are committed to helping our kids discover, nourish and deepen their roots. And on the heels of a year where they have been bombarded with videos, images and messages that communicate that their lives are expendable, we want all of our kids to know with unshakable certainty that their lives matter.
